Dr. Martin Dias is an Assistant Professor of information management for the D’Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University. He researches the design and use of information systems that enable interagency public safety information sharing and collaboration. Professor Dias has conducted research on two Nation Science Foundation supported projects – one on public safety collaborations and the other on enterprise systems implementation. Going forward, Martin will be investigating the role of private citizens using information systems in order to enhance community resilience. Working with the Center for Resilience Studies at Northeastern he is developing design principles to assist public safety agencies in engaging citizens in general and in crowdsourcing public safety in particular. Martin has a PhD in Information Systems and from Bentley University. Prior to academia, Professor Dias worked for 14 years at State Street Corporation in Boston leading numerous IT-related initiatives aimed at improving operational excellence.
